Another school year will commence on Monday for primary school children and for the San Pedro Roman Catholic School it will be an extra special day as their school has gotten a very much needed paint job.
Sergio Torres of Island Club Resorts has been residing in Belize for quite some time now and wherever he can he gives a helping hand. This time around, Torres has provided financial assistance in order to have the project completed. The Sun spoke to Torres and he explained, “The school really needed this help, there is no question about it. One day I was passing by and I turned to look and I saw the condition it was, so I organized a meeting with the principal and we agreed on getting it done.” On Saturday, work started and the men and women were busily working and trying to get the entire school painted before the school opens. The base coat of the paint is light blue and the trim color paint is dark blue giving the school a fresh look for a new school year. Still, it is a much bigger job for a couple people to handle therefore, volunteers are being asked to come out and help paint the school before it reopens.
